Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a house having a combined gross residence earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence earnings does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to provide the right Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds nsfas status people who are researching or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public click here universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the nsfas status last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
